County Championships Next Weekend
The second leg of the County Championships will be held on Sunday next May 10th starting at 11am. There will be events for all ages from under 13 upwards. The full programme is

Primary School Sports Next Thursday May 7th
The rain that fell in the early part of last week and in particular on Wednesday night meant that the first leg of the primary school sports had to be postponed and even though Thursday dawned bright and sunny the damage had been done by then and the course was waterlogged. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this postponement but the safety of the young athletes was our main concern.
The first leg of the Primary school sports will now take place on Thursday night in St. Augustines College with the first race getting under way at 6.30. This will be the heats for the big schools. Please come early and give yourself plenty of time for parking. The heats for the small schools will take place the following week May 14th
East Munster Girls Championships
This event, which is the qualifying event for the Munster Schools Championships, took place on Wednesday last. Many west Waterford athletes were in action competing for their schools. The highlights on the day included Kate Veale’s (St Augustine’s) record in the intermediate walk a treble by Zoe Scanlon (Ard Scoil) in the intermediate shot, discus and hammer, a double by Kate Hickey (St. Declans) in the junior discus and shot. The local schools were well represented when the all round cups were distributed The Ard Scoil won the junior cup the Friary won the intermediate cup and St. Declans won the senior cup. Well done to all who competed. Next week the boys will be in action starting at 11.30.
Training continues on Wed and Fri @ 6pm new members are always welcome.
Club Championships dates: Wed 10th & 17th June and Friday 17th & 19th.
