Juvenile Notes, 16th June 2008

Quiet Weekend on Athletics Front
Unusually for this time of year we actually had a free weekend last weekend we savoured every bit of it as its all for the next few weeks with athletes in action in Cork, Dublin, Tullamore and Belfast.

Club Championships
We are now half way through our club championships and competition is keen across all age groups.  On the first night we had the sprint events this was followed on Friday last by long jump for all the girls and ball throw for boys up to under 11 with the older boys putting the shot. On Wednesday it will be the turn of the boys to try out the long jump while the girls will take part in the ball throw or shot putt. The championships will conclude on Friday next with the long run in each age group.  We are delighted with the turn out for this event and the points table is a great source of discussion and friendly rivalry at training.
